Privacy policy
Valloon is currently a pre-launch GCSE and IGCSE Science tutor preview. This policy explains what personal information is collected through the landing page and waitlist, how it is used, and the rights that students, parents and other visitors may have.
Who is responsible for your data
Valloon is a pre-launch project. For privacy questions, deletion requests or rights requests, contact hello@valloon.com. If Valloon later launches through a formal company, this page will be updated with the legal entity name, registered details and any additional contact information required by law.
Information Valloon collects now
The landing page itself is designed to collect as little personal information as possible. If you join the waitlist, Valloon may collect your email address and any optional answers you submit, such as your name, GCSE or IGCSE route interest, exam board, Science subject, year group, topic needs or learning blocker.
You should not submit sensitive information through the waitlist, including health information, disability information, private family information, passwords, payment details, secure exam materials, live assessment materials or anything your school or exam board has told you not to share.
How the waitlist works
Waitlist submissions are collected through Typeform. Typeform processes form responses so Valloon can review demand, contact people about launch updates and understand which Science routes should be prioritised first. Typeform has its own privacy and security terms, and may process data outside your country using appropriate transfer safeguards.
Why Valloon uses personal information
Valloon uses waitlist details to send launch and early-access updates, ask optional route-shaping questions, understand demand for GCSE and IGCSE Science topics, keep the waitlist secure, respond to messages and comply with legal obligations. Valloon does not sell waitlist details.
Depending on the context, the legal basis may include your consent, Valloon's legitimate interests in running a pre-launch waitlist, taking steps before providing a future service, legal obligations, or security and fraud-prevention interests. You can withdraw consent to marketing updates at any time.
Children and students
Valloon is being designed for GCSE and IGCSE students, many of whom are under 18. Valloon aims to follow a data-minimisation approach: collect only what is needed, explain things clearly, avoid selling student data, and avoid using waitlist responses for unrelated advertising.
If you are under 13, do not submit the waitlist form unless a parent or guardian has agreed. If you are under 18, you should show this policy to a parent or guardian if you are unsure whether to join the waitlist.
Future product data
The current landing page is not the full Valloon product. If Valloon later launches accounts, lessons, uploads, AI tutor memory, written-answer feedback, voice features, payments or analytics, the privacy policy will be updated before those features are made available. Future product data may need additional privacy controls, age handling, parental flows, retention rules and processor agreements.
Retention
Waitlist information is kept only for as long as it is useful for pre-launch communication, route planning, early access and reasonable record-keeping. Valloon will delete or anonymise waitlist details when they are no longer needed, when you validly ask for deletion, or when the waitlist is replaced by a new product account system.
Sharing and processors
Valloon may use service providers for forms, hosting, email, security, analytics or product operations. These providers should only process personal information for the purposes Valloon instructs. Valloon may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a future company restructuring, provided appropriate safeguards are used.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access your personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent and complain to a data protection authority. In the UK, that authority is the Information Commissioner's Office. In Spain, it is the Agencia Espanola de Proteccion de Datos.
Security
Valloon uses reasonable organisational and technical measures for a pre-launch project, but no online service can guarantee perfect security. Do not submit confidential school materials, passwords or sensitive personal information through the waitlist.
Leaving the waitlist
You can unsubscribe from launch emails when those emails arrive, or contact Valloon at hello@valloon.com to ask for your waitlist details to be removed.
Changes
Valloon may update this policy as the product develops, especially before launching accounts, payments, AI tutor memory, uploads or other full product features. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
